Changemakers is how local businesses get behind We Are Holyrood, a movement built and led by the young people of the estate to raise their sights, rewrite the story told about them, and celebrate the place they call home.
Since 2019 we’ve run over 500 hours of free creative activity and worked with more than 600 residents, putting their stories on stage and screen and reimagining their neighbourhood with them.
Holyrood is a tight-knit corner of Southampton: 1950s social housing, high-rises, terraces, green space and a community hub at its heart. It’s had plenty to push against, years of lazy stereotypes, creeping gentrification and no youth provision, and its young people have had far less than they deserve. They’re the ones asking for change. Changemakers is how you help them make it.
